My Faerie Fantasy Scapes are part of a project I've continued to work on for several years. Using flora and fauna along with a natural spirit often not seen, these creations are more interactive for those who enjoy the thrill of the hunt for the Fae who may live amoungst us!

'Lost Hamster', graphite on acid free board, image approx 30" x 22". This piece was the first of my series of Faerie Fantasy Scapes. If you look closely inside the tree you can see the wee hamster who became separated from it's mortal owner, only to be taken in by the Fae who wish to protect it. (This piece was created for all those children who have lost their little pets and lost many a good nigh's sleep worrying about them; it's meant to be a reassuring concept that, just maybe, some kind-hearted spirits are looking over them). This piece is in the Kay Hilger collection. |

Several hidden Faeries are to be found in this piece, paper measuring 20" X 25.5". This is a reproduction poster on paper with a passage from 'The Stolen Child' by Wm. B. Yeats: 'Come away! 'The Wye Oak Family Tree', graphite and conte on mulberry paper, cutout collage. This large piece is my interpretation of what a family of Dryads might appear to look like. These spirits live for many centuries within ancient Oak Trees originally throughout Europe, according to legend. The State of Maryland's large champion 450 year old white oak tree was the Wye Oak, which blew over in a summer storm in 2002. Pieces of the tree were offered to selected artists who agreed to create a piece of art which would be available to the State for viewing to the public for a year. To create this, I placed mulberry paper on the wood fragment I have and rubbed it with pencils to create the wood grained textures of the faces and tree. This work is not for sale.
